Shivalli Kutumba of North America(KUTUMBA) is a community organization of VIPRA families with ancestral roots in the former South Canara region of Karnataka state in India who are currently residing in North America. KUTUMBA was born out of a desire to promote cultural activities and provide an educational forum through which members can learn various aspects of the culture and tradition. In addition, KUTUMBA creates a platform for giving back to the community and giving back to the society in general.

Shivalli Kutumba of North America’s mission is to unite as an extended family to instill cultural values and a tradition of caring, sharing and giving back to the community.

• The Goals and Objectives of KUTUMBA shall be,
  1. To promote meeting and networking opportunities for KUTUMBA members living in North America.
  2. To promote cultural activities and provide an educational forum through which members can learn various aspects of former South Canara Vipra traditions.
  3. To celebrate and encourage participation of the association members in social and cultural events.
  4. To raise, solicit, and collect funds either directly by voluntary contributions from members or in cooperation with other not-for-profit organizations to support philanthropic causes.
  5. To establish and maintain ties with other organizations having similar objectives and reinforce contacts with similar organizations around the world.

In order to accomplish the above objectives KUTUMBA formed committees such as Cultural, Dharmika, Educational, Hiriyara Chaavadi, Yuva Vedike and Charitable committee, through which it takes up various activities in the form of events, programs and workshops
